Why consider the First Home Loan?

Are you eligible?

To qualify, you must:

  • Be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or resident visa holder living in NZ

  • Be a first home buyer (or in a similar financial position)

  • Have an income from the last 12 months of:

    • $95,000 or less (single buyer without dependants)

    • $150,000 or less (single buyer with dependants or joint buyers)

  • Have a 5% deposit (including savings, KiwiSaver, First Home Grant, or gifted funds)

  • Be buying a property to live in (not an investment), under 1 hectare in size

  • Not currently own property (excluding Māori land)

In addition, you’ll need to meet the bank or lender’s standard criteria, such as your ability to repay the loan, credit history, and existing debts.
